Further improvements to my first tiny house design. Based on an 8x24 trailer, it is 13 feet high overall. The loft platforms sit on secondary stud support systems to enable flexibility with regard to height and length. This also allows for a substantial knee wall on either side of the loft and windows and glass surrounding provide much light and views. The front of the house is to face south, southeast (east coast jersey boy). Solar, wind and hydro all enable complete self sufficiency. The option to tie in at any time is also available. This is only a revise and several more features and refinements are to be completed. I have two more floor plans within this 8x24 footprint, then it's on to the smaller sizes. Most of the tiny homes I've seen are beautifully executed with wonderful craftsmanship. They focus on simplicity and minimalism. Me, I'm an extremist. I have to restrain myself from installing a 50 inch LCD TV in that trailer! But I am concerned with bringing as much of the "regular" life as is required for a realistic existence. A good sized, well equipped kitchen. A spacious comfortable place to lounge, eat, watch TV. A good sized bathroom and laundry facilities. The sleeping loft is to die for and the dedicated office area means there is no multipurposing, which translates to move this, work on top of that... not good.
