We wanted to send out a special thank you to the person who sent this video in. Thank you for sharing with us your experience, in sharing your experience in hopes that it will help others is very kind. You may have just saved several other horses in sharing with us. This is an example of a horse in pain. In this case, colic. Get to know your horses. You are their first defense. Often times you know your horse better then anyone. If they are acting strange, pay attention. Dear Filly, I wanted to share what I experienced and see if you guys would bring awareness to all the different things a horse can do to show that they are in pain... So last Friday I noticed my horse Gidget twitching her lips in a very odd way that was very unlike her. I thought that it was kinda funny at first , but as she didnt stop doing it the whole time I watched her I started to worry. I called my vet and he explained that that is a sign of pain and she might be colicing. Who would have thought that something so simple would be the only sign that something is wrong with my horse? I caught Gidgets colic early enough that I was able to get her treated and she is back to good health now.
